The Petalo has been hand-crafted in South America by Pampeano’s master artisans using an ancient, native practice of hand-craft which has been passed down through generations of local artisans. The finest cuts of leather are first hand-selected for their purest quality, before been naturally vegetable-tanned in an extensive and lengthy process which produces the most exquisite results. It is this that provides the leather with its rich colour and butter-soft to handle, which only improves as it ages.

The iconic pampa diamonds and instantly recognizable blocks of colour are achieved by hand, where a single artisan uses wax-dipped saddlery threads to tightly weave the patterns into the thick leather; a meticulous process which can take up to five hours to complete. The robust threads are waxed so that they remain vibrant in colour, do not fray or rip, and are easy to clean by wiping down with a soapy, non-coloured sponge.
